What is a Brow Lift?

As we age the soft tissue in the brow tends to deflate causing a descent and laxity of the brow. The characteristic appearance of a forehead that is too low will include extra, saggy flesh of the upper lids and loss of a youthful brow arch. Who is a candidate for a Brow lift?

If you have a sagging forehead or brows that hang too low, or are too close to the eyes or if you have deep vertical furrows between the eyebrows (frown lines) and horizontal worry lines, you may be a candidate for a Brow lift.

What happens during a Brow lift treatment?

The procedure is preformed under local anaesthesia or IV sedation. Most patients can go home after the procedure, but stay overnight is other procedures like eyelid surgery are combined. Several short incisions are placed in the hairline. Using an endoscope (a narrow, fibre optic light telescope and camera, through which the procedure is performed with small special instruments) the forehead skin is lifted and repositioned and fixed in place.

What is the recuperation from a Brow lift?

Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Sutures or staples are removed within 10 days with most swelling and bruising gone in 7-10 days.
