New L.A. Barber Shop Combines Grooming and Cosmetic Procedures
With Botox injectable manufacturer Allergan running new commercials aimed at men during the NHL and NBA playoffs, it’s no surprise that men’s cosmetic procedures are on the rise. Market research firm Allied Market Research even estimates that the men’s personal care market will garner $166 billion globally by 2022.
Into this growing market stepped Dr. Justin Rome, a fellowship trained facial plastic surgeon who specializes in FUE (follicular unit extraction) with the opening of Barber Surgeons Guild in L.A. At this specialized shop, men can get a haircut, a straight razor shave, laser body contouring, or injectable fillers.
“As a plastic and hair-restoration surgeon, I always felt there was a style component lacking. BSG creates the missing link between style and medical in the men’s space,” Dr. Rome told The Hollywood Reporter.
“No brand combines high-end barbershops and advanced medical grooming services in a modern environment, with a luxury grooming line” co-founder Ari Goldberg said in the same interview.
The space features leather and wood touches that evoke the feeling of an old-timey barbershop. For customers visiting the cosmetic part of the clinic, there’s even a discreet back entrance. BSG has also launched a line of hair care products so customers to keep their locks looking fresh.
