What is VECTRA® 3D Imaging?

In recent years, VECTRA® 3D imaging has become recognized as an indispensable component of modern cosmetic surgery that effectively bridges the gap between logical expectations and highly successful outcomes. Essentially, VECTRA® 3D imaging refers to a state-of-the-art computer imaging system designed to take your preoperative photographs and simulate the range of results that can be achieved through plastic surgery. By providing accurate visualization of the range of results you can reasonably expect from your procedure, VECTRA® 3D imaging allows patients to be more involved in the decision-making process and “try before they buy.”

Dr. Mulholland has been a pioneer and leader in the use of the VECTRA® 3D imaging for Breast Augmentation and Rhinoplasty surgery. In fact, his innovative use of VECTRA® 3D imaging is a significant reason why so many of his loyal Breast Augment and Rhinoplasty patients are ecstatic with the results of their surgery.  Being involved in the planning and actively discussing aesthetic goals from the preoperative phase leads to better results.

How Does VECTRA® 3D Imaging Work?

VECTRA® 3D imaging involves utilizing high-resolution cameras to capture multiple angles of the regions that will be treated by seasoned doctors at SpaMedica. Typically, these regions refer to the nose, face, breasts, and body.

At first, the patient will stand in front of the cameras, as photographs are taken from multiple angles. Once the photographs have been processed, a 3D reproduction of the targeted area will be generated. The doctor will then proceed to review your expectations and provide suggestions on how to achieve a realistic outcome. At the same time, the 3D reproduction will accurately depict the range of potential results of cosmetic surgery.

Procedures Using VECTRA® 3D Imaging

Breast Augmentation

With respect to breast augmentation, VECTRA® 3D imaging allows patients to preoperatively select the size and shape of their implants that most closely meets their aesthetic breast contour goals and expectations. A consult that incorporates a 3D computer simulation of the range of probable results of their procedure, allows patients to select the type of implants that best fits their anatomy and augmentation goals, or modify their expectations from the actual procedure.

The VECTRA® 3D imaging will not only allow patients to select the best possible implant for them; the innovative technique will also provide them with the opportunity to visualize the probable range of final results of their breast augmentation procedure so they can make an informed choice regarding their surgery.

Rhinoplasty

To ensure that patients remain informed of the implications of their decision to undergo a rhinoplasty, VECTRA® 3D imaging is included in each consultation. The computer-simulated rhinoplasty procedure reviews systematically the various nose job treatments to the bridge, tip, length, width and rotation and the aesthetic consequences of the new craniofacial balance and proportion. VECTRA® 3D nose imaging helps ensure that rhinoplasty patients witness the range of improvements that are likely to occur as a result of the procedure and the kinds of procedures that best unlocks their true “self-visualized” inner beauty. In addition, VECTRA® 3D imaging will allow patients to select which type of nasal improvements will fit their unique facial composition.
