How much does liposuction cost?

August 26, 2019

The goal of modern liposuction, as pioneered by myself and my team at SpaMedica in Toronto, is the use of energy-assisted devices which heat, liquefy, and coagulate fat just prior to its aspiration and removal. Our cutting edge techniques make the removal of fat a much gentler process with less bruising, swelling, and pain than ever before. But how much will your liposuction cost? Fair question. The short answer? It depends on what kind of energy-assisted liposuction program you decide upon during your consultation, and myriad other factors.

Here’s a rough cost guide for liposuction in Toronto:

Smart Lipo, a type of laser-assisted liposuction, is performed using a very small, 1 mm laser fibre that emits gentle laser energy which heats, liquefies, and coagulates fat. In addition, blood vessels are sealed, allowing for easy extraction with less pain, swelling and bruising than traditional tumescent liposuction. The price of Smart Lipo depends on a few different factors: the size of the area, the amount of fat, and the number of areas to be treated. As a guideline, SmartLipo starts from $6999 for the first zone, with discounted prices for subsequent zones. Starting from $9999, you can typically have 3-4 zones treated for a total body contouring effect!

BodyTite Lipo is the use of radiofrequency energy to gently coagulate and liquefy fat cells and blood vessels, rendering the removal of fat much easier than with old-fashioned tumescent liposuction. It also provides up to 35% soft tissue contraction and skin tightening post procedure, minimizing the risk of laxity or irregularities—one of the reasons I integrate BodyTite in most of my liposuction cases. BodyTite pricing depends on the size of the areas to be treated, but generally, a single zone starts from $6999, with discounting for subsequent zones. Typically patients can have 3-4 zones treated starting from $9999.

VASERLipo is gentle ultrasound-assisted liposuction used to soften and loosen up fat cells, separating them from their tight fibrous compartments and attachments. It’s common for patients to remove unwanted fat from one area with VASERLipo and graft it successfully to other areas where fat may be desired. In general, a single VASERLipo treatment starts from $3999 for the first zone with subsequent zone discounting for the second, third and fourth zones. There are additional fees if fat grafting is performed as well.

Nonsurgical liposuction options are also widely available at SpaMedica in Toronto. From cutting edge body sculpting technologies like CoolSculpting (which freezes fat cells), to SculpSure (heats fat cells), UltraShape (cavitates fat cells with high-frequency focused ultrasound energy), and BodyFX (bulk heating radiofrequency energy that kills fat and improves cellulite), we are able to offer patients the highest possible concentration of permanent fat cell destruction and the best possible skin tightening results to boot. There are a range of fees depending upon the number of zones treated and the size of each zone, however, generally, a series of treatments with combined technologies start from $2500 for the first zone. This type of program may include 3 BodyFx treatments and/or 1 UItraShape treatment over a 6-week period. The second and third zones are often discounted. In general, the SpaMedica nonsurgical liposuction costs approximately one third of what you would spend on liposuction surgery. For instance, Coolsculpting starts at $899 per treatment for a small zone or $1599 per treatment for a large zone.
