Pre-Juvenation Prevents Wrinkles
People usually try to fill and eliminate wrinkles and folds once they see them. The concept of pre-juvenation, however, is supposed to prevent these things from happening in the first place. Dr. Kenneth Arndt, who published an article in JAMA Dermatology, advocated that it’s never too early to start using Botox Injectable if that person wants to maintain a youthful appearance. Some people (surgeons included) don’t agree with pre-juvenation or think it’s unnecessary for young people to start using Botox Injectable before they even get wrinkles. Dr. Arndt says while he doesn’t advocate treating children or teenagers, he suggests at “whatever point people begin to notice and are bothered by some of these things like frown lines or forehead lines…It’s reasonable to consider starting treatment with Botox Injectable.”
Botox Injectable is one of the most common pre-juvenation procedures, but there are other procedures performed to maintain youthful looks such as: FotoFacials, Crystal Peels, and dermal fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra).
Maintaining a healthy diet, wearing sunscreen and having a good skincare regiment are other ways to maintain youthful, healthy skin. But for those who want to ensure wrinkles don’t appear at all, pre-juvenation does just that.
