Facial for first-timers infographic.

What is the first thought when you hear “facial treatment”?

Do you visualize a calming space, a soothing mask, and a relaxing face massage to help you forget the day’s worries? Maybe it’s the scent of the formulation about to touch your skin, or it could be the feeling of caring for yourself.

Whether you’ve tried a medical-facial, spa facial or you’re completely new to the world of skin rejuvenation, we are happy to help you find your perfect skincare routine that will leave your complexion healthy and glowing.

At SpaMedica, we are about all skin, from skin tightening and lifting to minimally invasive microneedling procedures for addressing textural concerns. You can be assured that we only provide treatments that are beneficial and results-oriented.

Enter: our rejuvenating facial treatments. These medical-grade facials are an excellent starting point to get your skin on track and reduce the appearance of texture, dull skin, and dry patches- leaving your skin healthy and radiant!

Our skin care experts will assess your skin to determine the type of facial best suited for your concerns and long-term goals. Keep reading to learn more about our medical-grade facials!

What is a Medical Grade Facial?

While a spa facial focuses on relaxation, a medical-grade facial offers both relaxation and deep rejuvenation beyond the superficial layers. These powerful treatments improve overall skin health while using advanced technologies to target specific concerns of texture, tone, dullness, and fine lines.

Medical-grade facials focus on exfoliation, deep cleansing, and proper product absorption. It delivers rejuvenating benefits such as improved skin tone and texture, instant radiance, and reduces the appearance of fine lines over time.

These treatments are performed by our certified medical aestheticians that learn from our dual-board certified dermatologist and medical director, Dr. Malika Ladha. This distinction allows treatment providers to use clinical-grade solutions for treating deeper and more efficiently on our epidermis, which is not normally performed in a spa.

At the beginning of your treatment, your provider will assess your skin type and concerns and recommend a suitable treatment. The number of sessions will depend on your own goals and skin concerns.

Facials for First Timers at SpaMedica

There are many types of facial treatments in spas and aesthetic medicine. Here at SpaMedica, we chose these facial treatments to complement our other non-invasive treatments, such as Morpheus8Fotofacial, and microneedling, to optimize your skin health.

SilkPeel

SilkPeel is a fast and effective way to revitalize and rejuvenate your skin. This facial uses gentle exfoliation to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, superficial acne, and sun damage.

During the SilkPeel treatment session, your clinician will use a device with a diamond microdermabrasion tip to gently exfoliate the outer skin layer, which will also help get rid of dead skin cells and sebum. Pneumatic pressure is used to infuse serums, vitamins, and antioxidants deep into the skin to bring out a brighter-looking complexion. These steps make the SilkPeel a great treatment for clogged and enlarged pores.

Effects on your skin will be visible immediately after one session. You will notice your skin feeling smoother and more hydrated. It also aims to restore skin balance and promote a radiant, hydrated, and healthy complexion. This treatment is a great introduction to the world of aesthetic treatments, and it’s particularly wonderful to have prior to any energy-based and laser treatments to remove dead skin and enhance the outcome.

You will need about 4 to 6 treatment sessions booked a month apart for optimal results and maintenance, such as minimizing the appearance of pores, helping clear blemishes on acne-prone skin, and keeping skin hydrated. But if you are just looking to try this facial once and enjoy the results, SilkPeel works stunningly for that too.

OxyGeneo Facial

Oxygeneo is also called a “super-facial,” and here is why — it works by combining exfoliating benefits or microdermabrasion, deep cleansing facial, and skin oxygenation by the “Bohr effect,” which is the unloading of oxygen into the skin to meet its oxygen demand.

The Oxygeneo treatment begins with gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells from the outer layer of your skin, making it smooth, removing dirt, and clearing clogged pores. Exfoliation and release of CO2 will induce Bohr’s effect, a natural response from the outer skin layer.

This replaces CO2 with oxygen-rich blood and renews your skin. At the same time, during oxygenation, essential vitamins, serums, and active ingredients are infused into the skin to make it healthier, nourished, and smoother.

This medical-grade facial works for all skin types, skin tones, and skin conditions like hyperpigmentation, dry skin, and uneven skin tone. With one treatment, you will already feel the difference in skin texture.

There is minimal to no downtime after the Oxygeneo facial, and you can resume your daily activities right after the treatment session.

Tip: remember the other areas of the body. We can also treat back acne (bacne) and the neck and chest for even hydration. The results of these treatments are maintained with medical-grade skincare and simply being consistent with your skincare routine day and night.
