Are You a Candidate?

Individuals with small, wrinkled, or deflated facial features.  Those that are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have inflammation on the desired area should avoid treatment.

Prep/Pre-Op

Avoiding any non-steroidal anti inflammatory medication for at least a week prior to your treatment is advisable.  Inform your doctor or specialist of any antibiotics or medications that you may be administering.  Also, if you develop a cold sore, rash, or skin blemish of any kind prior to treatment, please consider rescheduling.

Procedure Details

Restylane is a dermal filler that’s used as an effective non-surgical treatment for improving the appearance of facial features.

The Restylane procedure is performed using the micro-canulla injection technique pioneered by Dr. Mulholland, with the injection being introduced under the skin and along the surface of the bone.  The use of local anesthetic will minimize pain, making the procedure very tolerable.

After Care Instructions

Most patients can expect to return to work the next day after treatment.  However, depending on the amount of Restylane filler used some individuals may experience more swelling than expected.  Gently icing the injection area immediately after the injection will help minimize any swelling or bruising you may experience.  Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat following your treatment to speed up the healing process and minimize the risk of inflammation.

Maintenance Required

Most patients who enjoy nice post-soft tissue Restylane® contour and shaping, will return between once a year and once every year-and-a-half for volumization and restoration. Highly-animated areas, such as the lips, tend not to last as long as unanimated areas. As such, you may require a Restylane lip treatment every six to nine months.

Side Effects and Risks

The most common side effects of Restylane injections include headaches, nausea, flu-like symptoms, pain at injection site, and redness.  In very rare cases, you may experience some muscle weakness which should resolve on its own within a few days.  If your side effects persist for more than a few days, be sure to notify your doctor or specialist to ensure that the recovery process will continue smoothly.

Outcomes

Restylane injections can make you appear many years younger, and improve the appearance of your facial features by adding volume. The results of Restylane vary widely from person to person, and depending on the area of injection.  The results of the injection generally last for about six months, with some people having effects lasting up to a year.

Benefits

Restylane is comprised of hyaluronic acid not derived from animal tissue, making it a safe choice for those who wish to avoid complications associated with animal allergies.  In addition to being a comparatively affordable treatment that is non-invasive, the results of Restylane treatments are long-lasting and appear natural.

Additional Procedures

We offer a variety of complimentary procedures that can help accentuate the results of your Restylane treatment.  We can supplement your Restylane procedure with Botox, fractional laser, colour correction, and various laser treatments.

Cost

Restylane® Voluma™ injections start at approximately $599 a syringe.  However, we offer significant bulk discounts with the more syringes you inject.
