What is an IntimaLase Procedure?

An IntimaLase treatment is a non-surgical laser treatment designed to relieve the vaginal symptoms of vaginal atrophy that some women experience due to childbirth and aging. Like the MonaLisa Touch, the IntimaLase is a carbon dioxide laser device that allows for a comfortable and therapeutic rejuvenation of the lining of the vagina. After undergoing an IntimaLase treatment, patients can expect improvements in the lining of the vaginal walls, as well as a significant reduction in the symptoms of vaginal dryness, discharge, pain and atrophy.

Often the SpaMedica gynecology team will recommend combining the IntimaLase with the MonaLisa Touch and the Votiva Forma V and Fractora V to get the best possible tightening and rejuvenation of the vagina.

Risks of an IntimaLase Procedure?

Like all procedures, IntimaLase treatments come with the risk of potential complications. Dr. Sasha has been performing these procedures for many years and, as such, the risk of a significant complication is extremely low. Although Dr. Sasha has not seen most of the risks listed below, these IntimaLase complications have been reported:

Mild Discomfort
While some patients describe mild discomfort during the treatment itself, the recovery period is known to be pain-free.

Vaginal Discharge
There may be slight vaginal discharge for 3 days following the procedure, but no special treatments or creams are required.

While risks are minimal, a complication that can occur involves the infection of the skin. However, the gynecologists at SpaMedica take extra care to avoid the risk of infection. Preventative antibiotics are also provided.

In rare cases, the procedure may result in bruising that can last several days.

All complications are managed and corrected as part of your surgical fee.
