What is Accent?

Accent is a non-surgical liposuction radiofrequency procedure used at SpaMedica Toronto to permanently remove fat, tighten skin & reduce cellulite safely and effectively. This technology has been around for a long time and there are newer RF devices with more thermal safety and efficacy controls. The Accent was one of the first on the market and still works well!

Who is an Accent Candidate?

The best candidates for Accent treatment include those individuals who have focal fat contour concerns and loose skin in areas such as the lower abdomen, upper abdomen, and hip, outer and inner thigh and desire to have a body contour, fat reduction improvement. Those who may be pregnant, have a pacemaker or any inflammatory, cancerous or infective lesions in the areas of treatment are not candidates for an Accent treatment.

Benefits of Accent

Non-Invasive Fat Reduction, Cellulite Improvement, and Skin Tightening
Those who do not want to undergo minimally-invasive liposuction surgery or excisional body contour surgery, such as abdominoplasty or thigh lifts, love this Radiofrequency alternative!

Maintain Tight Smooth Skin
As we age, skin gets increasingly lax. To maintain the tight, smooth skin and enhanced cellulite, maintenance, a single non-invasive radiofrequency treatment is recommended once every 3-4 months.

No Downtime
As there is no downtime, patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment.

Effective for All Skin Types
Accent treatments are safe for all skin types (I-VI) as well as thin and delicate sections of the face and neck.

Accent Risks

As these non-invasive radiofrequency devices are not invasive, there is no recovery period. Patients can return to their activities of daily living and high-impact exercise almost immediately.

The area of treatment is somewhat red and swollen for several hours following the procedure but does not compromise the patient’s ability to wear any clothing or engage in any activity.

Why Choose SpaMedica for Accent?

The SpaMedica non-invasive body contouring program combines the best possible technologies for permanent fat reduction and, in general, requires treatment once a week 4-6 weeks to optimize the outcome.

At SpaMedica Toronto, we focus on the permanent reduction of fat cells using high-tech radiofrequency and high-frequency focused ultrasound and other technologies that permanently reduce and remove the fat cell. As such, the results following non-invasive liposuction can be permanent.

Non-Surgical Accent Alternatives

SpaMedica has Canada’s largest collection of radiofrequency bulk-heating devices like the Accent, including Thermage, Venus Freeze, Venus Legacy, Pelleve, Tempsure Envy and the highest tech option the Forma Plus and the Evolve Tite. The SpaMedica team will match the best fat reduction, skin tightening and cellulite reduction devices and program for you.

How is Accent Performed?

Accent is an early-generation, non-invasive, radiofrequency bulk skin tightening and body contouring device.

The Accent radiofrequency applicator is applied to the skin. Using a thin layer of ultrasound gel, the Accent applicator is moved over the area of body contouring concern or skin laxity. The gentle high-frequency electrical current oscillates skin and fat molecules, raising the temperature.

The Accent fat reduction treatment of each zone takes approximately 20-30 minutes, and procedures are generally performed once a week for 8 weeks. Combination therapy deploys radiofrequency bulk heating devices, such as Accent, combined with high-frequency focused ultrasound, such as UltraShape and Liposonix, or Electroporation with the Evolve Trim.

The best non-surgical liposuction and fat reduction centres will combine freezing technologies, such as Zeltiq Coolsculpting, together with radiofrequency devices and/or HIFU devices to achieve the best possible permanent fat reduction and skin tightening results.

How to Prepare for an Accent Treatment

It would be best if you arrived at your appointment wearing no sunscreen, moisturizer, or makeup on the treatment area. Non-invasive radiofrequency skin tightening and body contouring devices, such as the Accent, are not painful, so no local or topical anesthetic is required.

What to Expect After Accent

You’ll notice immediate results after your first procedure. As you follow up with more appointments and your natural collagen production is stimulated, you’re likely to see the most optimal results 3-4 months after the program.

As long as patients maintain their weight, the body contouring and enhancements should last for years. However, any weight gain will be manifested in those excess carbohydrates being stored in other body contouring areas, including the area of treatment and can distort the results that were achieved.

Accent Recovery & Timeline

Accent treatments are safe and effective, with no side effects or downtime. You can return to your daily routines and workouts immediately after your appointment.

Best Procedures Paired with Accent

Evolve Trim, Coolsculpting, Sculpsure, Laser hair removal and cellulite reduction all work well with Accent.
