While the cost of BodyFX varies according to the amount of fat that the patient would like to remove, in general, pricing starts at $699 for a single treatment. However, a four-treatment package can be purchased for $1,999.
Unlike a traditional liposuction procedure, a BodyFX treatment boasts a recovery process that is practically non-existent. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients who undergo BodyFX to return to work immediately after the treatment.
The length of the procedure depends on the breadth of cosmetic work. However, on average, a BodyFX treatment takes approximately 20 minutes to perform per zone. Treatments are performed on a weekly basis for 6 weeks. Following this period, patients generally notice that their weight has decreased by one size.
BodyFX treatments utilize a non-invasive approach to create permanent fat cell death, skin tightening and cellulite improvement. In essence, the treatment involves applying high-voltage electrical pulses to cause a reduction in localized areas of fat, as well as improve the appearance of lumpy, bumpy, and irregular cellulite and tighten skin. Commonly treated areas include the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, bra line, hips, and buttocks. It is also worth noting that BodyFX represents one of the only body contouring devices that simultaneously tightens skin and reduces localized excess fat at the same time.
There is no particular age restriction for a BodyFX treatment, and there is no specific trait that defines a “good” candidate. Fundamentally, good candidates are patients who would like to remove unwanted fat without undergoing the invasiveness of a traditional liposuction procedure. However, as is the case with most cosmetic procedures, good candidates should have realistic expectations concerning the risks and benefits of the procedure.
However, please note that the treatment is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or who have a pacemaker. In addition, the treatment should be avoided in areas where there are cancers, lesions, or infections.
With a BodyFX treatment, patients experience a significant reduction of unwanted fat, obtain tighter skin and significantly reduce cellulite without resorting to invasive surgery.
In most cases, a BodyFX treatment only takes 20 minutes, per zone to perform.
No Recovery Period
Whereas a traditional liposuction procedure involves a lengthy recovery period, a BodyFX boasts no downtime.
While other fat reduction treatments can cause some discomfort, a BodyFX treatment is completely painless.
Like all procedures, a BodyFX treatment comes with the risk of potential complications. Dr. Mulholland has been performing BodyFX treatments at his Toronto clinic for over 20 years and, after this many procedures, the risk of a significant complication is extremely low. Although Dr. Mulholland has not seen most of the risks listed below, these BodyFX risks have been reported:
In rare cases, the procedure may result in bruising that can last several days.
The affected area may feel numb following the procedure, but this side effect is typically temporary.
In some cases, the procedure can result in swelling. However, this swelling should subside in the days following the procedure.
Like these other potential risks, any redness should diminish not long after the procedure.
Led by the incomparable Dr. Mulholland, the skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeons at SpaMedica combine technical proficiency and unparalleled precision with an individualized approach that puts the patient first. By using advanced plastic surgery techniques and state-of-the-art equipment, the SpaMedica team is capable of producing incredible results while also reducing the risk of complications. See our bodyFX before and afters for proof.
As a BodyFX treatment is completely painless, there is no topical or local anesthesia involved in the procedure. During the treatment, the BodyFX applicator is simply placed over the area of unwanted fat and cellulite and the treatment performed. Then, the applicator uses gentle radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin and reduce unwanted fat cells.
Prior to your procedure, Dr. Mulholland and his team will review your medications and medical history. Based on the scope of the treatment, SpaMedica doctors may recommend that you stop taking certain medications before the procedure. It is also recommended that you consume a healthy diet and drink plenty of liquids before your treatment.
There is no recovery involved in a BodyFX treatment. Indeed, after each session, patients typically opt to return to normal activities immediately, including high-exertion exercise. Please keep in mind that, once destroyed, the fat cells do not return. However, it is imperative that patients maintain their weight following the BodyFX treatment to ensure the best results.
Due to its minimally invasive approach, a BodyFX treatment is not considered to be painful at all. After the procedure, patients can expect a bit of discomfort, tenderness, and swelling in the targeted areas. However, these sensations should subside the following day.
The experienced doctors at SpaMedica recommend that patients undergo 6 treatments, once per week for 6 weeks for the best results. Other technologies and devices will often be combined in a customized program to reduce the most fat. Although the fat is dead and will not return, maintenance treatments to keep your skin tight and cellulite reduced are recommended every 3-4 months.
