How Much Does Labia Puffing Cost?

The cost of labia augmentation generally depends on the labial puff technique performed. Fat grafting to the labia majora or minora starts at $5,999, whereas Juvederm labia augmentation starts at $3,999.

How Long Does It Take to Recover From Labia Puffing?

Those who are recovering from a labia augmentation generally take 1-3 days off of work and must refrain from sexual intercourse for 4-6 weeks if fat grafting is performed.

How Long Does Labia Puffing Take?

A labia puff procedure takes about 1-2 hours. Many women can return home on the same day.

What is a Labia Puffing?

Labial puffing is a type of vaginal rejuvenation procedure that uses dermal filler injections to add fullness, plumpness, and shape to the labia majora and/or minora. A soft tissue filler of your choice is selected for the augmentation of the labia. Options include natural fat grafting surgery or a simple non-surgical technique performed using Revanesse, Restylane, or Juvederm. The filler is injected into the labia for a plumper appearance.

Different Types of Labia Augmentation

Fat Grafting

This labia puff procedure can be performed with fat grafting, where the fat cells are harvested from a selected donor site, prepared and purified into its stem cells and fat cells, and injected under local anesthesia into the labia majora and/or minora. Generally, 50% of the fat-grafted cells will survive, and the bond will last many years.

Soft Tissue Filler

A simple non-surgical labia puff procedure technique can be performed using the soft tissue filler Revanesse, Restylane, Saypha, or Juvederm Voluma, where these injectable “off the shelf” long-lasting HA sugar gels are used to augment the labia majora and/or minora.

Who is a Labia Augmentation Candidate?

Good labia augmentation candidates are those women who feel their labia majora and/or minora are undersized or have decreased in volume. Some of the causes include age-related diminishment of estrogen, leading to vulvovaginal atrophy, or shrinkage and deflating labia majora and minora.

There can also be a hereditary factor, with a genetic lack of volume and substance in the labia majora and minora. Or it could simply be an aesthetic desire to have a labia puff even in the presence of average size.

How to Prepare for a Labia Augmentation

Little to no preparation is needed for a labia augmentation.

How is a Labia Augmentation Performed?

All labia augmentation patients will first be assessed by Dr. Bell or, SpaMedica’s director of the Female Health and Vaginal Wellness program Dr. Sasha, a nationally recognized Gynaecologist and expert in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Sasha or Dr. Bell perform a full assessment and examination to ensure you are a labia augmentation injection candidate and then conducts the Revanesse, Restylane or Juvederm injection themselves. Once the soft tissue filler type has been decided upon, the labia augmentation is performed under local anesthesia.

If fat grafting is selected for your labia augmentation, Dr. Bell will perform the procedure, under local anesthesia and sedation for the harvest and injection.

What to Expect After a Labia Puffing

Women with labia atrophy or deflated labia majora or minora who undergo a labia augmentation procedure require no post-procedure maintenance. When and if the fat graft subsides or HA sugar gel or Juvederm Voluma dissipates and disappears, then additional augmentation procedures may be necessary.

The 'After' image shows the same view with an emphasized 'Increased Volume of Labia Majora,' demonstrating the change from the procedure.

Labia Puffing Recovery and Timeline

Day 1: Slight discomfort in the area of injection or fat grafting. If the labia augmentation is performed with Juvederm Voluma, Revanesse, or Restylane, you can almost immediately resume any form of sexual intimacy.
Day 3: patients can resume all activities
Week 4-6: If a labia augmentation has been performed using fat grafting, the fat cells need time to recover a blood supply and survive. Aggressive vaginal stimulation or intercourse should pause for 4-6 weeks.

Benefits of a Labia Augmentation

Sexually Confident

This labial puff treatment is especially appealing to women who’ve experienced multiple childbirths, which have resulted in stretched or elongated vaginal lips.

Enhanced Pleasure

It has been reported that the puffing of inner lips can significantly increase a woman’s ability to sense sexual pleasure.

Improved Aesthetics

During the labia augmentation process, the dark pigmented and low-hanging tissues of the inner lips can be diminished to reveal a smoother, lighter-toned mucosa, resulting in a much more visually appealing vagina.

Reduce Fat in Other Areas

To begin the fat grafting process, liposuction techniques are used to harvest fat from another part of the body, such as the lower abdomen. This can provide contour, shape, and form appearance improvements in other body regions.

Labia Puffing Risks

Like all procedures, labia augmentation comes with the risk of potential complications. Dr. Sasha, Dr. Bell, and the SpaMedica plastic surgeons in Toronto have been performing surgical labia puff procedures for years, and the risk of a significant complication is minimal.

Fat transfer:

  • local infections
  • swelling
  • hematomas
  • sensitivity to pressure

Revanesse, Restylane, or Juvederm:

  • swelling
  • local pain pressure (3 to 5 days)
  • small, harmless, hyaluronic acid nodules (easily removed)

Best Procedures Paired With Labia Puffing

Many patients combine labia puffing with a labiaplasty. Both procedures treat volume loss caused by weight loss or aging. They can also help revitalize your appearance and provide you with a confidence boost.

Non-surgical Labia Augmentation Alternatives

A popular alternative to labia puffing is Radio Frequency Labiaplasty. This procedure uses lasers and RF technology to improve the appearance of your deflated labia majora or minora. During your consultation, a medical provider at our office in Toronto will recommend the most suitable labia augmentation procedure for your unique concerns and needs.
